Portible™

Overview

Portible is a fungicide from Agritas, built on the Benzimidazole (MBC) chemistry. It is used against powdery mildew, anthracnose, leaf spot, scab, wilt. Registered use on brinjal, chili, citrus, melon, okra, peach. Agritas supplies it through the Haryali Markaz network, where the staff know which pests and diseases are moving in your district this week and can tell you whether this is the right product for what you are actually seeing in the field.

Mode of action

Portible™ is a systemic broad-spectrum fungicide. It is absorbed by the roots and leaves of treated plants and has a protective and curative action. It can be effectively use to control diseases of scab, brown rust and powdery mildew of apples, wheat, cucurbits, vegetables, fruit, almonds, peanuts, soybeans.

Dose & application

2 g per kg of seed

Add slowly the required quantity to water and stir well with a stick or rod. While preparing large quantity of spray solution, add solution to a bucket half-filled with water, stir and empty this prepared solution into bulk of water.

Why it pays

Disease does not take yield evenly — it takes the leaves that fill the grain. Protecting the upper canopy through grain filling is worth more than any spray applied after the spots have spread, and it costs the same bottle.

Field tips

Get it on before the disease, not after. A protectant sprayed onto clean leaf is doing its job; the same product sprayed onto spotted leaf is mostly protecting the leaf that has not been hit yet.

Watch the sky. Rain within two hours of spraying washes most of it off, and a second application on the same day is money spent twice.

Clear the old crop residue. Most of the disease that arrives next season overwintered in the stubble lying in the field.

Safety

Wear gloves and a mask while mixing, since the powder is easily breathed in. Spray when rain is not expected for at least six hours, or the product washes off before it works. Do not eat, drink or smoke while spraying, and wash your clothes separately.
