Boron Deficiency

Growing points die back, flowers and young bolls or fruit drop before setting, and leaves become thick, brittle and cupped. It shows up worst on sandy soils and after heavy rain has leached the boron away.

How to scout

Count dropped squares and young bolls under cotton plants. Heavy shedding with no pest damage visible points to boron rather than insects.
