Alternaria Leaf Spot

A fungus that makes round brown spots on the brinjal leaves, with rings inside them like a target. The spots join up, the leaf goes yellow and drops, and with fewer leaves the fruit stays small and gets scorched by the sun. It moves fastest in warm, wet weather on an older crop.

How to scout

After rain or a heavy dew, check the oldest leaves at the bottom of the plant and look for brown spots with rings inside them.
