Raison™

Overview

Raison is a fungicide from Agritas combining pyraclostrobin at 10% with tebuconazole at 30%, as a suspension concentrate. One is a strobilurin and the other a triazole, so it acts at two separate points in the fungus rather than one — protecting tissue that is still clean and reaching an infection that has already started.

Method: a thorough, even spray covering both sides of the leaf.

Timing: at first symptom or ahead of disease weather, and not back to back with another strobilurin. The registered diseases and crop stages are on the pack.

Why it pays

A single-site fungicide gives a fungus one lock to pick, and once it is picked the product stops working. This has two locks, which is why it holds where a single active has begun to slip. It also covers both jobs at once: the strobilurin protects the healthy tissue, and the triazole gets into growth that is already infected. Rusts, powdery mildew and leaf spots are what that combination is built for.

Field tips

Get it on at first spots, or ahead of the weather that brings the disease - neither half of this pack can rebuild tissue the fungus has already taken. Cover thoroughly, including the underside of the leaves. Rain within a few hours washes off what has not yet moved in. It is FRAC groups 11 and 3, and the strobilurin half is the one fungi defeat quickest, so do not spray it twice in a row; alternate with a multi-site protectant.

Safety

Wear gloves, boots, long sleeves, eye protection and a mask while mixing and spraying, and wash thoroughly afterwards. Do not eat, drink or smoke while spraying.

Tebuconazole is a triazole, and triazoles carry a reproductive-health caution: women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not mix or spray this product.

If anyone swallows it, go to hospital at once with the container. Do NOT make them vomit. Flush a splashed eye with clean running water for at least fifteen minutes.

Observe the pre-harvest interval on the label - that is the number that decides whether residue reaches the person who eats the crop. Keep it away from irrigation channels, ponds and drinking water; strobilurins are very toxic to fish. Store it locked away from children, animals and feed, and never re-use an empty container for anything.
