Phomopsis Fruit Rot

A fungus that attacks the leaves and stems and, above all, the fruit. On the fruit it starts as a small pale sunken spot that spreads until a soft, watery brown rot takes over, and tiny black dots come up on the skin. A rotten fruit is a total loss, and the rot carries on after picking.

How to scout

Turn over the fruit that hangs low and sits in the shade inside the plant, and look for soft sunken patches with black pinhead dots on them.
