Wheat Crop Program 1. Land Preparation • Plough the field 2–3 times to prepare a fine seedbed. • Apply Farmyard Manure (FYM) 8–10 tons per acre. • Level the land properly to ensure uniform irrigation. ________________________________________ 2.

Rabi Sowing Oct–Nov Harvest Mar–Apr 35–50 maund per acre

Land Preparation

  • Plough the field 2–3 times to prepare a fine seedbed.
  • Apply Farmyard Manure (FYM) 8–10 tons per acre.
  • Level the land properly to ensure uniform irrigation.

Seed Treatment

• Treat seed with E Spot @ 2 ml per kg seed before sowing.
(This helps protect seed and seedlings from early diseases.)

Sowing Time

  • Punjab & Sindh: Mid-October to Mid-November
  • KPK & Balochistan: Late October to Early December

Seed Rate

  • Certified Seed: 50 kg per acre
  • Maintain row spacing of 9 inches for better aeration.

Fertilizer Requirement (per acre)

  • DAP: 2 bags (at sowing)
  • Urea: 2½ bags (split dose — half at sowing, half at first irrigation)
  • SOP: 1 bag at sowing

Irrigation Schedule

  • 1st Irrigation: 20–25 days after sowing (critical for germination)
  • 2nd Irrigation: At tilling stage
  • 3rd Irrigation: At booting stage
  • 4th Irrigation: At grain filling
  • 5th Irrigation: If needed, before maturity

Insect Control

• Use Dpest when aphids or other sucking pests appear.
(Apply recommended dose as foliar spray.)

Weed Control

Weed Damage Control Product
Wild Oat (Jangli Jai) Comes up with the wheat and stands above it, taking the light and the nitrogen right through tillering. Feumav
Canary Grass (Dumbi Sitti) Passes for wheat until it heads, so it is left standing to take the tillering irrigation and the first nitrogen. Feumav
Bathu (Lambsquarters) Fills the gaps in a thin stand and drinks the first two irrigations while the crop is still tillering. Feumav
Shahtra (Fumitory) Spreads low and dense over the rows early and takes the first dose of nitrogen before the crop has tillered. Feumav
Field Bindweed (Lehli) Twines up the stems and pulls patches of the crop down flat, and the harvester leaves that grain in the field. Uproot the vines at every weeding before they seed; the deep root takes several seasons

  • Apply Feumav @ 400 ml per acre after 25–30 days of sowing when weeds are at 2–3 leaf stage.
  • Where shahtra (fumitory) is still standing after the Feumav spray, follow with Broston™ @ 500 ml per acre 7–10 days later — a separate spray, never in the same tank as Feumav. Broston™ does not control wild oat or dumbi sitti, so it does not replace the Feumav spray.

Harvesting

  • Harvest when grains are fully mature and hard.
  • Ensure proper drying before storage to maintain quality.
